I did a postermaking for ad recently. Yeah, printed ads have a chance to be more catchier than online ones. We can improve rate of interest by using a specific kind of paper, texture effect, and soforth. I used to test 'killing' words by Glyphius. Awesome, I get the score instantly. Besides, I usually play with fonts and get advices from friends.

Chris - I'm becoming a fan of the approach as well. I think it can be a great way to market when tied to other mediums such as search.

I think the "advertorial" approach really works. More than just image advertising. I'm a strong believer in press releases because people find information much easier to believe when it is written by someone, rather than created into the box of an ad. When things are in that neat little square or rectangle with the logo in the bottom right and a large zany photo with just a snippet of copy, it's hard to understand why you'd want to buy it.
