All the buzz this week in the search marketing community is on the Search Engine Strategies conference in Chicago. Should the small company marketing manager attend an SES conference? Absolutely.
I am not at SES Chicago this week, but I did attend the San Jose conference in August. I thought it was a great conference packed with useful and applicable information. If your company does search engine marketing or website optimization, its a must. Even if you outsource the SEM/SEO work, its a good idea to attend one of these conferences to get a better understanding of what you’re paying for. Oh, and the Google Dance in San Jose is a blast.
There is a ton of great SES Chicago coverage on blogs this week. I’m getting a plethora of useful information from:
- Lee Odden at Online Marketing Blog
- Matt McGee at Small Business SEM
- Danny Sullivan and his crew at the new Search Engine Land
- Rand Fishkin at SEOmoz
